Henri Manuel (1874-1947) Parisian photographer, he worked as the official photographer of the French government from 1914 to 1944. Manuel opened in 1900, with his brother, a studio in Paris specializing in portrait photography. It soon became a famous photographer thanks to portraits of celebrities from the world of politics, art and sport. He was also an important photographer in the field of art and architecture. Soon his portraits have been used by news agencies. In 1910, Manuel founded “L’Agence universelle de reportage Henri Manuel,” which became the most famous studio in Paris.
